William B. Jeffery
Executive Vice President, Marketing

Since joining the pharmaceutical industry in 1980, Bill has served in a progression of sales and marketing positions with a number of multi-national companies in Canada.

He joined Purdue Pharma in 1992 and is currently responsible for marketing, market research, continuing health education (CHE), new product planning and new business development. Bill has directed the launch of several novel products in a variety of therapeutic areas while contributing to the strong growth of the established portfolio of products. He has also been responsible for the development and execution of new training programs and department process initiatives.


Chris E. Kostka
Vice President, Sales

Chris Kostka is Vice President, Sales of Purdue Pharma Canada. Chris has served in various senior marketing and sales management positions during his 27 year career in the pharmaceutical industry.

Chris joined Purdue Pharma in November 1999. Over the past ten years he has demonstrated his capabilities by introducing several new business processes that have improved sales force efficiency and effectiveness resulting in significant revenue growth to the company's product portfolio. In addition, his compelling approach to leadership has led to the development of a high performance sales organization.

Chris maintains a strategic focus on developing and implementing sales force effectiveness programs for Purdue Pharma - as well as continuing to pursue mastery of the strategic foundation established during his tenure.


Brian E. Lockwood
Executive Vice President, Finance

Brian Lockwood is an honours graduate of the Carleton University School of Commerce. Following his graduation, he articled with Clarkson Gordon and Co. (Ernst & Young) where he received his Chartered Accountancy designation. Following a two year international consulting assignment with Ernst and Young, Brian accepted a senior financial position in the international oil and gas trading and shipping industry, and seven years later in1984, Brian joined the Purdue/Napp/ Mundipharma International Group as Managing Director of Mundipharma International Ltd, which is one of the group's global, licensing, trading and export operations.

In 1990, Brian joined Purdue Pharma Canada as Vice President Finance and Secretary/ Treasurer. He is responsible for all Accounting, Treasury, Information Technology, Customer Service and Human Resources areas of the business.

 

Kenneth J. Michalko

Vice President, Scientific Affairs

 

Effective May 2006, Kenneth J. Michalko joined Purdue Pharma as Vice President Scientific Affairs, with responsibility for clinical research, biostatistics and data management, federal and provincial regulatory affairs, drug information, and pharmacovigilance.

 

Most recently, Ken was Vice President, Canadian Regulatory Affairs and then Vice President, Global Regulatory Affairs for Biovail Corporation.  Prior to these roles, Ken was General Manager for Biovail's Contract Research Division. Before joining Biovail, positions held included Senior Director, Canadian Regulatory Affairs for Teva Neurosciences and Senior Director, Global Regulatory Affairs with Novopharm.  Prior to working in the pharmaceutical industry, Ken was a practicing pharmacist in Toronto and Ottawa, Ontario. In addition to appointments as Director of Pharmaceutical Services in two of Ottawa's University Teaching Hospitals, Ken worked with Health Canada in the review of regulatory submissions for prescription drugs - where he was a Scientific Advisor and, subsequently, a Division Chief. 

 

Past appointments include Chairman of Health Canada's Terfenadine Advisory Panel, Membership on the Medical Research Council Working Group for Best Practices: Industry-Academic Interactions, Membership on the Therapeutic Products Directorate and Biologic and Genetic Therapies Directorate Advisory Committee on Management, Director of Education for the Canadian Association of Professional Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Examiner with the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada. Ken continues to maintain memberships with various professional and scientific organizations, including licensure with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, and certification by the Canadian College of Health Service Executives.

 

 

Keith M. Westbrook
Vice President, Manufacturing Operations


Keith joined Purdue in October 1997 as Director, Plant Operations. Prior to Purdue, he served in a progression of quality, materials management, and plant management roles in the pharmaceutical and confectionery industries -- most notably with Warner-Lambert Canada. Since joining Purdue, Keith has demonstrated his capabilities by managing operations during a period of consistently strong volume growth, new product introductions, and the expansion of the manufacturing and warehousing facilities.

Keith maintains a strategic focus on GMP compliance, cost-effectiveness, and the development of personnel and manufacturing-related capacity to support the company's worldwide growth.
